Allowing Xplenty access to data on SoftLayer Object Storage

To enable Xplenty access to your SoftLayer Object Storage data, you need to perform the following steps:
  1. In SoftLayer Object Storage, view the user account credentials for defining a connection in Xplenty. For details on how to view the user account credentials in SoftLayer Object Storage, see SoftLayer's Introduction to Object Storage.
  2. In Xplenty, create a connection using the SoftLayer Object Storage user account credentials you viewed.
To define a connection in Xplenty to SoftLayer Object Storage
  1. Click your avatar, then click Account settings.
  2. Click Connections, then click new connection and click SoftLayer Object Storage.
  3. Type a name for the connection, then fill the various fields as follows:
    • User Name - the username as defined in the SoftLayer Object Storage account credentials.
    • API Key (Password) - the API Key (Password) as defined in the SoftLayer Object Storage account credentials.
    • Region - select the geographical location of your SoftLayer Object Storage cluster.
  4. Click test connection. If the credentials are correct, a message that the cloud storage connection test was successful appears.
  5. Click create SoftLayer Object Storage connection.
  6. The connection is created and appears in the list of file storage connections.
  7. Now you can create a package and test it on your actual data stored in SoftLayer Object Storage.
