Using components: Limit

Use the Limit component to limit the number of records in the output for the entire dataset or per partition or group within the data set. 

To limit the number of records for the entire data set:

  1. Add a Limit component where required in your package.
  2. Open the component and name it.
  3. Optional - add columns to the sort by list to sort the data before applying the limit and define the sort order (ascending or descending).
  4. In the limit to field, type the number of records you want to be returned.

To limit the number of records for partitions in the data set:

  1. Add a Limit component where required in your package.
  2. Open the component and name it.
  3. Under partition by, select the fields by which you'd like to partition the data.
  4. Optional - sort each partition by adding columns to the sort by list and defining the sort order (ascending or descending).
  5. In the limit to field, type the number of records you want to be returned per partition.
